A POS agent was released from prison after serving two years for using her terminal to make ransom withdrawals

 

After allegedly serving suspected kidnappers for two years in prison for inadvertently allowing them to use her computer to withdraw ransom

money, a Nigerian point-of-sale agent has been released.

The woman was randomly contacted by kidnappers who used her POS terminal to withdraw between ₦500,000 and ₦600,000 that was purportedly collected from their victims as ransom, according to the account published on TikTok by user @liousvee_ml.


Even after the real kidnappers were apprehended and imprisoned, the woman was arrested and held for two years despite having no knowledge of the crime.

In the video that goes with the post, the woman is seen leaving the prison, clearly upset, and mumbling in relief, "I suffer o."

"This lady is an officer of the Boys Brigade and a POS operator who got implicated by a kidnapper for what she knows nothing about," the video description stated.

"She has been in prison for two years, and her machine was used to withdraw random amounts of ₦500k to ₦600k."

Since then, the video has gone viral, with angry Nigerians expressing their fury and calling for justice for the wrongful imprisonment in the comment area.
