BREAKING : Egbetokun Steps Down as IGP

Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police, has resigned.

President Bola Tinubu extended Egbetokun's term as Inspector General by one year in 2025. Egbetokun submitted his letter of resignation on Tuesday, claiming personal and family reasons.
In response to inquiries, presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga told THISDAY that the IG had resigned and that a statement will be released later today.

Onanuga claims that Egbetokun resigned today. He wasn't fired. A statement will be released later.
