Top ten PC monitors at CES 2026

For consumer and gaming displays, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is usually a major event, and 2026 was no different.

A new Samsung QD-OLED panel with enhanced text clarity was one of this year's highlights, and it was incorporated into a number of new displays. A new generation of 34-inch ultrawide OLED monitors with a refresh rate of 360 Hz will also be introduced using the same panel technology.

Not all of that comes from Samsung. Additionally, the company unveiled the first 1,000Hz (really up to 1,040Hz) monitor in history. It's a hint of where monitors are headed, even though it's sadly not an OLED panel and can only do that at 720p resolution. All refresh rates have increased, and 120Hz is beginning to resemble the new 60Hz.

LG likewise went all out, but with a number of new 5K2K ultrawide monitors, it prioritized resolution. Additionally, Dell offered a number of enormous monitors, such as a massive 52-inch Ultrasharp display that supported Ethernet and Thunderbolt.


I had the opportunity to witness everything on the show floor, and there were a few obvious winners. These are CES 2026's top monitors.

Acer ProDesigner PE320QX: affordable 6K resolution


The ProDesigner PE320QX, a 31.5-inch 6K display for prosumers and creative professionals seeking exceptional pixel density, was introduced by Acer at CES 2026. It has an IPS-LCD panel with a resolution of 6016 x 3384. This translates to about 220 pixels per inch, a significant improvement above the approximately 140 pixels per inch of a 32-inch 4K panel.

A USB4 connector with 100 watts of power delivery allows the monitor to have outstanding connectivity as well. This has a 15-watt power delivery connection to downstream USB4. Dual 5-watt speakers and a proximity sensor that can turn off or dim the monitor when you move away are further features. Additionally, it has VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification.

Although it won't go on sale until Q2 2026, Acer claims the display will retail for $1,499.99 when it gets to North America.

Tandem OLED at 4K and 240Hz: Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27UCWM


The company's new flagship tandem OLED gaming monitor is the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27UCWM. Its 26.5-inch tandem OLED panel has a resolution of 3840 x 2160. Additionally, it is a dual-mode display that supports refresh rates of up to 240 Hz at 4K or 480 Hz at 1080p.

You're correct if you're wondering, "Wait, didn't Asus just release a tandem OLED monitor?" The Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W was reviewed by PCWorld just prior to CES 2026. However, that display maintains 1440p resolution while providing a faster refresh rate of up to 540Hz for 1440p or 720Hz for 720p. The new PG27UCWM offers 4K crystal clarity while aiming for lower refresh rates.

Additionally, the new PG27UCWM has a USB-C connector that can transmit up to 90 watts of power—a feature that was uncommon on Asus ROG monitors in 2025. Additional features include DisplayPort 2.1a video input and a Neo Proximity Sensor that may dim or turn off the display when you're not around to prevent OLED burn-in.

The modest 27-inch monitor is the sensible option for many gamers, even though the most of the monitors on this list are broader or larger. And the PG27UCWM will be difficult to beat if you're looking for a monitor of that size.

Availability and price have not yet been disclosed.

A new ultrawide with all the tricks: the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDN


With the new ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDN, Asus offers a wider monitor than 27 inches. It features a 34-inch ultrawide OLED panel with a maximum refresh rate of 360 Hz and a resolution of 3440 x 1440. Compared to earlier OLED ultrawides, which frequently peaked at 240Hz, that is a pleasant improvement.

That's not everything. Samsung's latest fifth-generation QD-OLED screen with RGB stripe is featured in the PG34WCDN. In order to increase the clarity of some objects and fine text—a challenge for previous QD-OLED monitors—this modifies the QD-OLED subpixel arrangement from its previous triangular shape to a more conventional striped design (with the red, green, and blue subpixels in a row).

I personally seen the monitor, and I thought it was a clear improvement. Although little lettering was still not crystal clear, I didn't notice any noticeable color fringing around it, and it seemed to be more a result of the 1440p resolution limitations than a problem with the QD-OLED panel.

The PG34WCDN will offer DisplayPort 2.1, a Neo Proximity Sensor, and a USB-C port with 90 watts of power delivery, just like its 27-inch sibling. The cost and availability of this monitor have not yet been disclosed.

The ultimate command center is the Dell Ultrasharp 52 Thunderbolt Hub Monitor (U5226KW).

The Dell Ultrasharp 32 4K QD-OLED (U3226Q) is an OLED designed for artists.


Most QD-OLED displays are intended for gaming, although more and more are also aimed at professionals and consumers.

These are joined by the Dell Ultrasharp 32 4K QD-OLED (U3226Q). Its 31.5-inch 16:9 QD-OLED screen features a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and 4K resolution. The monitor has an inbuilt colorimeter, programmable "direct keys," and Dell's color management software, among other capabilities, because it is intended for professional creative work.


It is a Thunderbolt 4 hub as well. It features a single 140-watt Thunderbolt 4 port, a 27-watt USB-C port, and a 10-watt USB-A port. There is also 2.5Gbps Ethernet accessible.
Both Windows and macOS are compatible with the display. On February 24, 2026, it will go on sale worldwide for $2,599.99.

The LG UltraGear EVO 52G930B: You don't realize how large it is.


Have you ever thought, "Hmm, that's too small," when you saw a 49-inch super-ultrawide gaming monitor? You should get the LG UltraGear EVO 52G930B. In sharp contrast to standard 49-inch super-ultrawides like the Philips Envia 8000, which employ a 32:9 aspect ratio, this 52-inch monitor has a 21:9 aspect ratio.

Although three more inches may seem insignificant, the change in aspect ratio makes it a significant issue. The display area of the UltraGear EVO 52G930B is increased by about 56%. Since the 52G930B is around 7 inches taller than a 49-inch super-ultrawide, the majority of that is vertical display space. If you're looking for a large, immersive display for simulation and first-person games, this is fantastic news.

Apart from its size, the EVO 52G930B has a vertical alignment (VA) LCD panel with a refresh rate of up to 240Hz and a maximum resolution of 5120x2160, or around 106 pixels per inch. Although it isn't as visually appealing as an OLED panel, it offers higher contrast and respectable color performance compared to the majority of IPS-LCD monitors.

LG has not yet disclosed the cost or availability.

The LG UltraGear EVO AI 39GX950B is a 5K2K gaming ultrawide.


LG's new flagship gaming display, the UltraGear EVO AI 39GX950B, is the greatest gaming monitor at CES 2026, in my opinion.

It features an ultrawide tandem OLED panel that is 39 inches curved. With a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz, the display can achieve a pixel-rich 5120 x 2160 resolution, or a more modest 2560 x 1080 resolution at up to 330 Hz. Compared to a conventional 34-inch 1440p ultrawide, which has about 110 pixels per inch, the 5K resolution setting packs roughly 142 pixels per inch.

A few AI functions have been added by LG. For better crispness, the display can upscale lower-resolution content to 5K, and according to LG, there is no extra latency involved. For improved clarity, the monitor also features built-in speakers with AI sound augmentation.

However, the pixel-dense ultrawide OLED display is the main feature of this monitor. To handle 5K2K resolution, you'll need a powerful GPU, but if you have one, I believe you're in for a treat.

Availability and price have not yet been disclosed.

The new ultrawide flagship from MSI is the MPG 341CQR X36 QD-OLED.


The 34-inch ultrawide panel of the MSI MPG 341CQR X36 offers a resolution of 3440 x 1440 and a refresh rate of up to 360 Hz. The MSI MPG 341CQR X36 features Samsung's latest 5th-generation OLED with V-Stripe, which enhances text clarity, just like the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDN. Additionally, it features a brand-new glossy treatment called DarkArmor that lessens glare and should improve the display surface's resistance to scratches.

HDR performance was highlighted by MSI. Up to 1,300 nits of HDR brightness are quoted by the MPG 341CQR X36, and MSI offers a wide range of HDR control tools that allow the HDR curve to be adjusted to a personalized setting (or to one of several preset HDR modes). Since HDR content on PCs is sometimes significantly less optimized than HDR content on HDTVs, I believe this could be quite helpful.

In order to prevent OLED burn-in, the monitor also features an AI Care Sensor that can automatically dim, modify, or darken the display when you turn away or walk away, as well as a USB-C port that can offer up to 98 watts of power.

According to MSI, the MPG 341CQR X36 will retail for $1,099.

MSI MAG 272QRF X36: Making Nvidia G-Sync Pulsar accessible to all


The MSI MAG 272QRF X36 is a 27-inch widescreen gaming monitor with a refresh rate of 360 Hz and a resolution of 2560 x 1440. Its support for Nvidia's G-Sync Pulsar, however, is its true claim to fame.

The Nvidia G-Sync Pulsar is a strobing technology for backlights. Although backlight strobing is a common method for enhancing motion clarity, it is typically incompatible with varied frame rates. This is resolved by Nvidia G-Sync Pulsar, which enables backlight strobing (which MSI refers to as MPRT) while G-Sync is activated. According to MSI, motion clarity has improved four times.

Although it wasn't the only G-Sync Pulsar display at the event, MSI's MAG 272QRF X36 earned a spot on this list because to a second feature: an ambient light sensor. According to MSI, the sensor can be used to automatically change the color temperature and brightness of the screen in both SDR and HDR. This is a useful function on any panel, but it's frequently lacking on gaming monitors.

The MAG 272QRF X36 will retail at $649.

Samsung Odyssey G6 (G60H): 1,040Hz for gaming


I wouldn't have believed you five years ago if you had said that we would have a real 1,000Hz monitor in 2026. However, it is made possible by a number of modern displays, including Samsung's most recent Odyssey G6 (G60H).

But there's a catch. Only 1,040Hz at 720p resolution may be achieved by the dual-mode Odyssey G6 display. The display can still reach up to 600Hz at 2560x1440 resolution, which is nothing to scoff at, but that will undoubtedly limit its appeal.
With the exception of refresh rate, the display's specs are standard for a mid-range gaming monitor. It features a 27-inch IPS-LCD screen and supports Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Additionally, the display is compatible with DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and HDR.

Although the price was not disclosed, I doubt it will be inexpensive considering the monitor's state-of-the-art refresh rate.
