Super Eagles camp expands to 18 as training begins in Rabat for the 2026 WCQ playoffs
With four more players entering the Super Eagles camp in Rabat, Nigeria's preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff versus
Gabon have accelerated.
With the arrival of Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Raphael Onyedika, the camp now has eighteen players.
Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, Olakunle Olusegun, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, William Troost-Ekong, Benjamin Frederick, Chidozie Awaziem, Amas Obasogie, Stanley Nwabali, Semi Ajayi, and Ademola Lookman are among the previous batch of 14.
Training starts in earnest
At the Institut Royal de Formation des Cadres in Rabat, head coach Eric Chelle oversaw the team's first training session on Monday night. The team started tactical drills in preparation for Thursday's pivotal match.
To complete the roster of invited stars for the match, more participants are anticipated before dusk.
On November 16, the victor of Nigeria vs. Gabon will advance to the African playoff final, where they will play either Cameroon or DR Congo.
