Oscar, a former Chelsea and Brazil international, was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday after experiencing a

cardiac event during a fitness test at São Paulo's training facility.

The 34-year-old midfielder apparently fell ill during São Paulo's preseason physical examinations.

Oscar passed out while riding an exercise bike and was unconscious for around two minutes before receiving medical attention, according to the Brazilian publication Globo.

Doctors from Einstein Hospital Israelita and São Paulo's medical team arrived on the scene and started treating him right away.

Club affirms a solid situation

Oscar was stabilized and sent to the hospital for additional assessment, according to an official statement from São Paulo FC.

The statement said, "Oscar presented an incident with cardiological changes and was promptly attended to by the club's professionals and the medical team from Einstein Hospital Israelita." "He is under observation for further testing to clarify the diagnosis, and his condition is stable."

The future is uncertain.
According to reports, Oscar is now thinking about retiring because of how serious the health scare is.

After leaving Chelsea in 2017, the midfield player has played for Shanghai Port in China for the most of the last ten years. He returned to São Paulo in December 2024 on a three-year contract.

Oscar started his career at São Paulo before becoming well-known with Internacional and garnering 48 caps for Brazil, where he played in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
