The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, arrested well-known Nigerian

rapper Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, better known by his stage name Oladips, for failing to pay taxes.

The musician revealed this information when talking about his time in EFCC custody.

As the ONIKEWIDE remembers, in November 2024, the EFCC broke into Oladips' estate and took him and other occupants into custody at around three in the morning on suspicion of fraud.
Speaking about the experience in his Hip TV interview, Oladips claimed that he was imprisoned for failing to pay taxes after it was determined that he is not a fraudster.
"Nigeria just happened to me when the EFCC broke into my estate on a typical night. It's a large estate, after all, and they were simply making arrests at each home. I was in my home. It was around three in the morning.

"I observed the EFCC inside the estate group. Since it is none of my business, I assure you that I was on my bed, pressing the phone. I didn't run because I don't use Yahoo or commit fraud. When someone commits fraud, they flee.
Then they knocked down the door to my kitchen, came inside, and demanded my laptop and phone. I don't have a laptop; I only have two phones. After gathering my phones and conducting their investigation, they concluded that I am not a fraudster. One of their ogas said, "Do I pay tax?" when they were unable to find anything to restrain me. He explained, "That's how they imprisoned me for not paying taxes."
