Club World Cup: FIFA denies championships to Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Manchester United

 FIFA has officially removed Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City of their Club World

Cup championships.

The world football governing body has officially declared that the three Premier League clubs listed above, as well as all past winners such as Real Madrid and Barcelona, shall be referred to as 'FIFA Intercontinental Champions'.

According to the Daily Mail, FIFA has agreed to acknowledge Chelsea as the competition's first victors.

This means that the Blues are the only team that can be considered 'world champions'.

Enzo Maresca's team defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final last week to claim the 2025 title.

This year's competition was enlarged to include 32 teams from six confederations.

After winning their continental titles the previous season, PSG, Pyramids, Al Hilal, and Cruz Azul have already qualified for the 2029 Club World Cup.
